Nicole & Damian
Nicole & Damian have been together for almost a year now and when you meet them you can just tell they cherish every moment together.... JUST KIDDING! They are JUST friends.... I swear!
Nicole and Damian are great friends of mine and were kind enough to spend this past Saturday afternoon with me at Balboa Park taking portraits together. We had a blast! Knowing our friendships, full of the constant laughs and good times whenever we are together (I guess most friendships are like that...), I knew these photos would turn out great even before we started. A big thanks again to them for being great subjects to capture while walking around Balboa Park.
If you live in San Diego you know how beautiful Balboa Park is. Besides Children's Pool, in La Jolla, Balboa Park is my favorite place to walk around and spend my day at in San Diego. From the architecture, to the zoo, and even the dog park, there is always something going on. Unfortunately on Saturday the St. Patty's Day festival was happening there and the park was packed! I tried to not have many people in the background but most of the time it was unavoidable.
This photo post is pretty big and I hope you all enjoy the photos. I really truly love all the photos I posted. During editing I did notice a lot of people in the background, some shadows in places where they shouldn't be, and small details like hair & hand placement. Also, a big thanks to my wonderful assistant, Laura, for doing a great job and noticing a lot of minor details while I was shooting... couldn't have done it without her! I love her so much! I'll have Nicole & D's solo shots up sometime this week. Again I'm always up to hearing any critiques and comments you may have about any of the pictures in the comment section.
I put up that last picture of Damian pointing just for him...
stormy weather
The last two days on Oahu were pretty cloudy, with showers on and off throughout the day. This made for some rough water (great!) but pretty grey skies during the day (not great...) That didn't stop me from trying/hoping for some solid sunsets and "seascape" photos. All the photos below were taken at Turtle Bay Resort which I can't recommend enough!
Some of you might remember Turtle Bay Resort from the movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall, and if you watch Cougar Town they were filming an episode at the resort while we were there. There was also a couple of scenes from the show LOST filmed here! Turtle Bay was great and a perfect way to end our vacation... it also doesn't hurt that we were also upgraded to a beach cottage!
-added another photo from the luau because I just couldn't leave it off the site. I had a tough time when posting the first one trying to decide which one of the two I should actually post. Which one do you like better?
Some more Hawaii
Just a quick warning that you should expect a new post every day for the next week and for that post to be filled with palm trees (I swear they are all different palm trees!) and different beaches we visited. The first photo is from the Paradise Cove Luau we went to. I actually got up on stage and "learned" to hula. Big quotations on the learned. Actually, the second photo is from the Luau as well. Paradise Cove was a great experience and it was recommend to us by a lot of different people that said this was the best Luau on Oahu. It's the only Luau I have ever seen so it was pretty good in my books... Enjoy!
-The show Cougar Town was being filmed outside our "beach cottage" when we got to Turtle Bay, so I decided to set-up shop in my hammock and be a creepy tourist for the rest of the day. P.S. It's only been a few weeks but I'm getting close to a thousand views on my site, but I have only ever had one comment... let me know what you think of my site, posts and/or photos and don't worry I won't get angry if it's mean or negative :P I love constructive criticism!
